This Weekend!!!

This weekend I went with the Youth girls to the revolve tour and it was a blast!!!

The girls had a great time jumping to the music, laughing at the skits, and really soaking in what the speakers had to say. It was an honor and a blessing to be apart of the weekend with 30 girls!!! Even though it was out of my element I had a wonderful time hosting 15 teens in my home. It has been a long time since I was a part of a teenage sleepover!!!!

Main question this weekend: Who is God 4 real?
My heart was touched when I listened to the answers that the girls in my car had

Girl 1: God is my guide
Girl 2: God is my provider
Girl 3: God is my friend

Two of the girls in my car on Saturday!!!!

A Must Read!!!

This week I read the book Fearless by Max Lucado. He is one amazing author!!!

The main thing that I took away from this book was the fact that throughout the Bible Jesus is calling use to...
  • Take courage
  • Not to worry
  • Don't be afraid
  • Don't fear
  • Don't let your heart be troubled
  • Don't be frightened
  • Don't be troubled
He has everything under control and He's got us!!! There is no reason to live in fear when He is ready to help us live a "FEARLESS" life!!!!

No More Bobos!!!

Three weeks ago we decided that it was time to get rid of Davis' bobos (paci). I wanted it to be his idea so during breakfast one day we talked about him being a big boy and that their are other babies that could use his bobos. He decided that he wanted to give his bobo's to his cousin Joshua and a baby in our church.

So we took two ziplock bags and wrote baby Joshua and baby Izak and then when he saw them that day he gave all his bobos away. For the first week we prayed that God would help him to sleep without his bobo and now after 3 weeks he is bobo free!!!!

We are so proud of our little guy!!!!

Need more of Him!!!!

I woke up this morning at 5:30 with anxiety in my heart. I needed peace at that moment, so I spent time praying for peace. Peace in my home, peace in my family, peace in the church, and peace for "Friends Sunday." There is a lot that goes into a special service and I know that their is a lot of anxiety about today. Especially for my husband....

Dear Heavenly Father,

"Right now I ask you to be with my husband as he prepares his heart to preach your word. Give the peace that passes all understanding. Help prepare the hearts of the people that will be here to listen. Let it be life changing and there will be new or renewed commitments to you. Touch my husband's body...from his head to his toes. Protect him from the attack of the enemy, who would want nothing but destroy at day like today. He is your servant and I am so thankful to call him my husband. Thank you Lord for allowing us to come to you with are requests. In Jesus' name Amen"

Father's Love!!!

A father's love for their child goes a long way. As I was reading in the book of Mark I came across something that Our Heavenly Father said to His son...

"You are my son, and I love you. I am very pleased with you"

What an example on how to praise and lift our children up!!! It means so much to children to get affirmation from their fathers. So many kids do not get this and it bleeds out in other areas of their lives.

Let our Heavenly Father be our guide and let's love and praise our children. We can find something everyday to encourage them with.

My To Do List!!

Let me share my "to do" list with you all...
  • Bank
  • Laundry
  • Cleaners
  • Take boys to Watkins Park
  • SPEEDING TICKET
  • Phone calls
  • Cleaning
When I put my list together this morning I really didn't feel like putting ticket on my list, but I guess I didn't get a say in it!!! I am very grateful that the cop liked me and gave me a pretty good break. I will be glad to pay $40 and have no points on my license. I just hope a speeding ticket doesn't get added to my "to do" list anytime soon!!!!

Butterfly Fly Away!!!

When I listen to this Hannah Montana song it makes me think about my relationship with my dad. I am reminded about all the things he did for me:
  • He tucked me in at night.
  • He would come in and rub my back when I was sick.
  • He would hold my hair when I was sick in the bathroom.
  • When I was scared he would let me sleep in his room.
  • He wasn't sure about the law so he gave me a bath in my underwear.
  • When he couldn't get a brush through my hair he took me to his barber and had it chopped off.
  • He went and bought me women products when I needed him too.
  • He made sure I knew how proud he was of me ( He was proud of all his kids).
  • Most of all he made sure all my needs were met.

  • I had the best father and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about him. I miss him and can't wait to see him again some day!!!

    Testimony Time!

Last night we started noticing our dog Miles was acting strange and look like he was in a lot of pain. During the night I rolled over and placed my hand on his lower body and he squealed. I sat up most of the night because I was worried about him and worried about finding the extra cash to take him to the vet. I finally woke got up at 6:30 and started my day and it was evident that Miles wasn't better and that he needed to be seen right away.

Here is the testimony!!! I was opening up yesterdays mail and we received a $100 refund from our insurance company. I was so thankful to have the extra cash and that Miles was going to be able to go to the vet. We found out at the vet that he will be fine but will need to be on medicine and rest for two weeks. When I went to pay the bill it was $103.00. God knows how to work things out!!!

Do you have a testimony to share?

    Kids Are Amazing!!!

Today Davis and I were playing in a public play area. There were 5 other bigger kids in there too. 2 kids were French and they didn't speak english. The other 3 kids spoke english one boy was hispanic and the other two boys were African.

It was amazing to watch them all play together and communicate to the French speaking kids. It felt like they had known each other all their lives. They ran around, laughed, and did a great job sharing.

All I could think about is that we can learn a lot from kids. They know how to accept people. It doesn't matter what they look like, what they wear, their language, or the color of their skin. Children just see people period!!!!

It is a great honor and blessing to work with children for a living. I learn so much from them and they make me strive for more humility.
